Card counting is a casino card game strategy used usually in blackjack card games in the casino and is used to determine whether or not the next hand is likely to give a probable advantage to the player or to the dealer. By knowing this information, the player has an edge on how much to bet to increase his win-rate. Card counters are players with an edge compared to the rest of casino patrons, also called advantaged players, who attempt to even out the casino house edge by keeping a running tally of all high and low valued cards already dealt/seen. Card counting allows players to bet more when the count is favorable, which gives them more probability in winning as well as minimize losses during an unfavorable count.
Some of the most popular card counting systems include Hi-Lo, Zen Count, Wong Halves, Uston APC to name a few.
