Go Make it Happen!

October 15 admin

The majority of us (99.99999%), have to wake up everyday and work hard at our dreams in order to make them happen. Sitting around and dreaming never achieved anything. Ideas are abundant. Execution is everything.

Mix pursuing dreams with our everyday life responsibilities, sometimes it can feel overwhelming and at times impossible. Having a very strong mindset is a very important trait of a successful entrepreneur.

11 steps to being great at what you do

1. You have to have a clear vision & clear intention.

2. You have to be willing to work hard and sacrifice.
3. You have to passionate about what you are doing.
4. You have to have common sense.
5. You have to be honest with yourself and what you are capable of.
6. You can’t give up.
7. You have to believe you deserve it.
8. You have to surround yourself with people believe in you and can lift you up when everything falls apart.
9. You have to value and take care of people that help you.
10. You have know that business is not personal.
11. You have to be able to laugh at yourself.

Success is not an easy journey, just because you want something doesn’t mean it is enough to take you to the end. You gotta make it through all the hurdles and if you can survive the adversity (what didn’t kill you made you stronger), you will be standing at the finish line. There is a saying about entrepreneurship that goes “Do what others won’t, so that you can live the rest of your life like others can’t”

The most important part about entrepreneurship is the will to stick it through, especially during the start-up phases. This start-up curve below pretty much sums it up. Many get lost in the Trough of Sorrow… other crash at the pits of ineptitude, but if you can hold it together and make it to the Promised Land… please invite me to enjoy the view from your penthouse!

The Dream Behind Lucky Lady Games

Making the decision to come back to Vancouver, Canada to do a start-up game studio and leaving my life in Dubai as a desperate housewife was a no-brainier.

Lucky Lady Games was started in March 2011 with a vision of a female friendly social poker room – with real fashion prize rewards such as Gucci handbags and Spa gift certificates. (Yes, I dream of playing in such a room still!) The company has pivoted over a dozen times since then, and long story short, we are enjoying this roller coaster ride and have learned so much along the way.

One of my dreams is to own a Casino Resort, and being a tech geek, it was only natural for me to start online first to test the waters. I have always been drawn to casinos, Las Vegas lights, and gaming of all types. I know my dream is a big undertaking and being a female CEO in an industry dominated by men doesn’t make things any easier. This however has not deterred my will and over a year into this, I am still as fearless as the next ignorantly passionate entrepreneur! I am confident that by staying authentic, relevant, and in-tuned with what the market needs/wants, Lucky Lady Games is going to create some pretty cool things!

I feel blessed to have the freedom and support to give my dream a shot. Success is definitely in the journey. Learning – pivoting – dreaming and working with the industries finest minds has been humbling to say the least, and I cannot wait to see where these next few years will take me.

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success. Swami Vivekananda

The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will. Vince Lombardi
